• Night shelter distribution programme at Kadaganchi village (Karnataka)

    The Directorate is implementing the DAPSC programme in Kalaburagi (Gulbarga) district, Karnataka in collaboration with Kalaburagi KVK (Gulbarga), Karnataka.  As part of this initiative, an input distribution programme was organized on 6th March, 2025 at Kadaganchi village, Kalaburagi district.  During the programme, 100 Scheduled Caste (SC) families were identified for the scheme. Scientists from the Directorate, in collaboration with Kalaburagi KVK, provided practical guidance on feeding and health care management of backyard poultry rearing. The importance of regular consumption of animal protein, particularly chicken eggs and meat, for improving nutritional status and immunity was also explained to the beneficiaries. At the end of the meeting, 100 temporary night shelters were distributed to the identified SC families (90 in Kadaganchi village and 10 in Alur village). The programme was coordinated by Dr. A. Kannan and M. Shanmugam, Principal Scientists from the Directorate. Dr. Srinivas, SMS, Kalaburagi KVK, and village elders were participated in the event.
