• Input Distribution to SC farmers under DAPSC Program in Kerala during January 2026

    Input Distribution Programme Conducted for SC Families at Kadambanadu Village, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala
    An Input Distribution Programme under the DAPSC scheme was organized on 27 January 2026 at Kadambanadu village, Parakode block, Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, for the benefit of Scheduled Caste (SC) families to promote backyard poultry farming. Dr. A. Kannan and Dr. M. Shanmugam, Principal Scientists, participated in the programme and sensitized the beneficiaries on scientific methods of backyard poultry rearing, feeding strategies, brooding management, and effective health-care practices. The scientists also highlighted the nutritional importance of regular consumption of eggs and chicken meat in improving nutritional security and enhancing immunity among rural households. As part of the programme, each beneficiary was provided with 20 grown-up birds, 10 kg feed, one night shelter, one feeder, and one drinker. A total of 2,000 grown-up birds, 1,000 kg feed, 100 night shelters, 100 feeders, and 100 drinkers were distributed to 100 SC beneficiaries. Dr. A. J. Biji, Senior Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Hospital, Mannady, along with local panchayat officials, participated in the programme.

    Input Distribution Programme at Kodumon Village, Kerala
    ICAR–Directorate of Poultry Research organized an input distribution programme under the DAPSC scheme on 27 January 2026 at Kodumon village, Kerala, for the benefit of Scheduled Caste (SC) families. Under the programme, each beneficiary was provided with 20 grown-up birds, 10 kg feed, one feeder, and one drinker. Night shelters had already been provided to these SC beneficiaries during the previous year. A total of 2,000 grown-up birds, 1,000 kg feed, 100 feeders, and 100 drinkers were distributed to 100 SC beneficiaries. Dr. A. Kannan and Dr. M. Shanmugam, Principal Scientists, participated in the programme. Dr. Anitha, Senior Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Hospital, Kodumon, and local panchayat officials were present.

     

    Input Distribution Programme for SC Families at Enathymangalam and Kalanjoor Villages, Pathanamthitta District, Kerala
    ICAR–DPR organized two input distribution programmes under the DAPSC scheme on 28 January 2026 at Enathymangalam and Kalanjoor villages of Parakode block, Pathanamthitta district, Kerala, for the benefit of Scheduled Caste (SC) families. Under the programme, each beneficiary was provided with 20 grown-up birds, 10 kg feed, one night shelter, one feeder, and one drinker. A total of 50 SC beneficiaries each from Enathymangalam and Kalanjoor villages were supported to initiate backyard poultry farming. In total, 2,000 grown-up birds, 1,000 kg feed, 100 night shelters, 100 feeders, and 100 drinkers were distributed to 100 SC beneficiaries during the programme. Dr. A. Kannan and Dr. M. Shanmugam, Principal Scientists, participated in the programme. Dr. Neelima, Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Dispensary, Elamanoor, Dr. Susan Isaac, Senior Veterinary Surgeon, Veterinary Hospital, Kalanjoor, and local panchayat officials participated.
