Dr. M. L. Jat, Secretary, Department of Agricultural Research and Education (DARE) & Director General, ICAR, visited ICAR–Directorate of Poultry Research (DPR), Hyderabad on 8 March 2026. During his visit, he interacted with the scientists and staff of the institute and planted a sapling on the campus.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. M.L. Jat emphasized the need to further strengthen research, innovation and technology development in the poultry sector to meet emerging challenges and future demands. He encouraged the scientists to come forward with innovative and impactful research proposals for funding under the ICAR corpus fund and other competitive research schemes. He also motivated young scientists to actively pursue cutting-edge research and gain exposure at reputed international institutions to enhance their scientific capabilities and global collaboration. He further advised senior colleagues to guide and mentor the younger scientists and support them in shaping their research careers and achieving excellence in scientific work.
Dr. R. N. Chatterjee, Director, ICAR–DPR welcomed the Director General and apprised him of the major activities, research achievements and ongoing programmes of the Directorate. Directors of other ICAR institutes located in Hyderabad and several dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
