The Directorate organized a training program on scientific poultry production and management for farmers from 16–18 September 2025. A total of 15 participants representing seven states attended and benefitted from the program. The event was inaugurated by Dr. R. N. Chatterjee, Director, ICAR-DPR. He emphasised the need to follow systematic poultry rearing for nutritional security, women empowerment and rural employment generation. Over three days, the program covered a wide range of topics including poultry management, housing, nutrition, health care, waste management, poultry welfare guidelines, hatchery management, integrated poultry farming, poultry economics, project formulation, and diversified poultry production. The training proved to be highly valuable, enabling farmers to gain a deeper understanding of the significance of scientific poultry practices for improving productivity and enhancing economic returns. A hands on training on poultry feed mixing was also conducted. A manual with all the topics covered in the lectures was prepared and distributed to the farmers for further learning and understanding. The training programme was coordinated by Dr. KS Rajaravindra and Dr SS Paul.
