Backyard poultry has emerged as a crucial tool for improving the economic and nutritional security of marginalised populations. Backyard poultry generates additional revenue rapidly with modest inputs by the sale of eggs or birds and offers rural households access to high-quality animal protein i.e. eggs, and meat. Under the DAPSC Scheme, the Directorate has launched backyard poultry training and inputs distribution in several villages of Kottapalle Mandal, Old Adilabad district (new Mancherial district). About 80 School children visited the exhibition. To promote backyard poultry farming, a total of  492 Gramapriya grower birds,  100 temporary night shelters, 100 feeders and 100 night shelters were also distributed to 100 SC families.
