Andhra Pradesh (Hyderabad) Chapter of IPSA and

ICAR-DPR organise interaction with poultry farmers

On the request of Anaparti Region Poultry Farmers Welfare Society, Anaparti, East Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh, a half-day interaction with farmers was organised by the AP (Hyderabad) Chapter of Indian Poultry Science Association in collaboration with ICAR- Directorate of Poultry Research. The event was held in the forenoon on 5th January 2015 at the ICAR-DPR, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad. Dr. R.N. Chatterjee, Director, ICAR-DPR and Chairman, AP (Hyd) Chapter presided over the event and Dr. A. Rajashekher Reddy, Convenor of the Chapter graced the occasion. A total of 13 leading layer chicken farmers from Anaparti region attended the event.

Dr. V.R. Reddy, Retd. Prof. & Head, ANGRAU and Dr. M.R. Reddy, Principal Scientist, ICAR-DPR have delivered highly relevant talks on current issues confronting nutrition and health of chickens, respectively. The talks were well received by the farmers and considerable discussion took place following the talks, wherein the farmers have actively participated. Several eminent poultry professionals, faculty and students from local veterinary college and industry personalities have participated and contributed to the deliberations. The visit of farmers was coordinated and sponsored by M/s Venvet Chemicals Pvt. Ltd. The farmers were highly satisfied with the interaction and requested for many more such interactions in future.
