BVSc students (85 Numbers) of College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar completed their internship (5 batches, 5 days each) during February- March, 2024 at Regional Station, ICAR-Directorate of Poultry Research, Bhubaneswar under the chairmanship of Head, RS, ICAR-DPR, Bhubaneswar. All the scientists of the regional station engaged in providing lectures and practical demonstrations/farm visits/ hatchery visits/ feed unit visits etc. Different aspects of Avian Production and Management especially several aspects of scientific duck farming viz; important Duck breeds and their production potential, scientific duck farming, scientific feeding, breeding, variety development, identification of male and female ducks, handling of ducks, bio-security of poultry/duck farm, sample collection, post-mortem examination, farm economics, status of duck farming in India, reproductive management of ducks for optimal fertility and hatchability etc were taught to the students. The students were taught practical skills on proximate analysis of feed, visited the institute duck farm to gain practical knowledge on different husbandry practices, and also visited the institute hatchery and feed processing unit.
